SISSON -- Carlton Edward Sisson, 70, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2004. He was born March 29, 1934 in Dundee, New York. Carl moved to Albuquerque in 1958 where he began work for Sandia Laboratories including working on special packages for Apollo 10, Apollo 12 and Apollo 13. He retired in 1994 after 35 years. Carlton was a real family man and leader. He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVerne Gilbert and Ethel Louise Sisson and his brothers, John and Gary. He is survived by Janet Claire Morehouse Sisson whom he married on June 29, 1957. He is also survived by his son, James E. Sisson of Albuquerque; and a daughter, Karla J. Newberry of Gallup; and by his sister, Carolyn Campbell and her husband, Dick of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has five grandchildren whom he adored, Eric E., Michael J. and Carl Lee Sisson of Albuquerque, and Kristina R. and J. Scott Newberry of Gallup. In addition, he is survived by the newest loves of his life, his great-grandchildren, Hailey, Zack, and Brittany. Numerous nieces and nephews will miss his humor and pranks. Carl was a member of Sandia Baptist Church, a Parkinson's support group, Amigo Square Dance Group and a past member of an engineering organization. Carlton served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to garden. He was a great son, devoted husband, fantastic father, loving grandfather and last but not least a great-grandfather. His family brought many smiles and chuckles to his life. He always had a plan and a smile. Services will be Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 12:00 noon at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be, Eric Sisson, Liz Sisson, Michael Sisson, Carl Lee Sisson, Kristi Newberry, and Pauline Sanchez.
