STAMPER -- Verne H. Stamper III, a resident of Albuquerque since the 1950s died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Janelle; his beloved daughter, Ashley; parents, Raynell and Verne H. Stamper Jr. of Ruidoso, NM; his mother-in-law, Minnie M. Glasscock, of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Hertz, of Santa Fe and Patti Geller of Hermosa Beach, CA; brother-in-law, Gary Glasscock and his wife Barbara, of Renton, WA; one aunt, one uncle, and several cousins. He was also loved by and will be missed by his second family the "Vern's Bunch" softball team, proud winners of the New Mexico USSSA Co-Ed State Championship. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Verne H. Stamper IV. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
