SUBLETT -- Jack R. Sublett, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Irene Sublett; daughter, Julie Tierney of Phoenix, AZ; son, Ronald Sublett of Phoenix, AZ, grandchildren, Alexandra French, Christopher Sublett, Garrett Sublett, Vanessa Sublett, Jaime Sublett; brother, Jim Sublett and wife, Beverly; and nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ben Sublett and sister, Norma Fae Sublett. Jack was born to B.T. and Maggie Sublett on a farm near the small town of Merkel, TX. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He served for two years in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for Sandia Labs for 32 years, retiring in 1983. Jack was active in and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He loved to work on cars and befriended many young people in doing so. He also loved to travel. Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Tom Beach officiating.
