BONACORSA -- Philip "Bono" Bonacorsa, 85, died on May 7, 2004. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Oaks Foxhunt Club in Lakeville, New York, co-owner of the Double "B" Harness Racing Stables in Yonkers, New York, a PHA Ringmaster of Equestrian Events in Long Island, New York, and owner of the Continental Motors in Great Neck, New York. He relocated to New Mexico in 1974 with AMREP to develop Rio Rancho. Later, he worked for Galles Chevrolet. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Bonacorsa; three children Paula Phagan and husband, Dale of Placitas, Donna Calles and Linda Fontaine and husband, Ed, of Albuquerque; brother Joseph Bonacorsa and wife, Mary of New Hyde Park, New York; grandchildren Lauren and David Blackmon, Karen and Steve Taylor, Sam and Marisa Vigil, Ryan Calles, Matthew Byers, Tracy and Michael Loftis, Edward and Cari Fontaine, and Carolyn and Michael Miller. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews. Philip is preceded in death by his son Philip "Tip" Bonacorsa in 2000, his sisters, Natalie Konopacki and Frances Bonacorsa-D'Angelo; and a brother, Michael Bonacorsa. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gates of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
