BARKER -- Marvin C. (Corky) Barker died May 6, 2004 in Llano, California after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Corky was born in Long Beach, California, October 10, 1946. He moved to Albuquerque in 1948 and lived here most of his life except for the past few years. He is survived by his mother, Iantha Irene Barker of Albuquerque; brother, Don Barker and wife, Doryne and their children in Los Lunas, New Mexico; sons, Shane Barker and wife, Showna and children of Las Vegas, Nevada, Shannon Barker and friend, Rose of Simi Valley, California; daughter Shawn Barker of Tarzana, California; son, David Dean Librea of Arkansas; two grandchildren and two aunts, Mary Ellen Hedrick and husband Bill of Bosque Farms, New Mexico; Lou Emma Mechler of Bogata, Texas. Also and especially his best friend Joey and wife of California. Corky was preceded in death by his father, Charles C. Barker of Albuquerque, in 1999. He was a professional truck driver and worked in the transportation department in the motion pictures studios in California. Corky was a member of the Church of Christ. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at Bland Canyon near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Donations may be made to the Pecos hurch of Christ at Pecos, New Mexico.
