GONZALES -- Octaviano "Tano" Gonzales, born on August 24, 1941 to Gregorio and Adela Candelaria Gonzales, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his first wife, Priscilla B. Gonzales, his sisters, Mable Gonzales and Mereciana Torres, his brothers, Alfredo and Leonides Gonzales and father-in-law Ofelio J. Tapia, mother-in-law, Victoria Tapia, brothers-in-law Felipe Tapia and Gilbert Maez. Tano was a well known musician for many years having had his own band, Tano and the Deltones. He played at many Valenica County nightclubs, weddings, anniversaries and fiestas. Tano also used his talent to play for the Lord at the San Clemente choir and most recently with a choir at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Peralta. Tano also worked for many years at the Prices Valley Gold in Albuquerque, and most recently, he worked for the Valencia County Road Department, always operating his grader and grading the roads of Valencia County with pride. Tano is survived by his wife, Lucy D. Gonzales and her children, Victoria and David Inman, Sean Kesani, and his two precious grandchildren, Charissa and David Inman, III; two sisters, Angelina Chavez and husband, Trinidad, Louisa Bibiano and husband, Richard; brother, Billy Gonzales and wife Erline ; sister-in-law Josie Gonzales; many nieces and nephews and his loyal dog, Lady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association. All services will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, beginning with a viewing at 6:30 p.m. on Monday May 3, 2004, followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10: am on Tuesday, May 4, 2004. Interment will be at Valencia Catholic Cemetery in Valencia. Pallbearers will be Johnny Gutierrez, Annie Lucero, Beverly Chavez, Dennis Torres, Adolfo Chavez, Greg Chavez, and Melissa Torres. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Valencia County Road Department and the Conejo Landfill. Romero Funeral Home.
