GOLDBERG -- Mae R. Goldberg, 74, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1982, passed away on April 9, 2004. She was born in New York to Murray and Celia Weisbroth Gross. She graduated from Metropolitan School of Nursing in 1950 in New York, NY and taught at Catholic Medical Center School of Nursing in Queens, NY for many years. She also worked at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque from 1982 until retirement in 1995. She was active at the Rio Rancho Jewish Center, the Meadowlark Senior Citizen Center, the Rio Rancho Branch of the Women's Auxiliary of the Jewish War Veterans, and Friends of the Rio Rancho Library. Mrs. Goldberg was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jacob Goldberg in 1997. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Goldstein and husband, David of Edgewood, NM; son, Benjamin Goldberg and wife, Sasha of Suffolk, VA; and grandchildren, Daniel and Alex Goldstein and William and Rebekah Goldberg. Memorial Services will be on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rio Rancho Jewish Center, 2008 Grande Blvd SE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Humane Animal Association of New Mexico, Inc., 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108, Friends of the Rio Rancho Library, 950 Pinetree SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, or a charity of your choice.
