STEVENS -- Clarice Irene Stevens, 90, a resident of Olathe, Kansas, and formerly of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2003. Clarice was born May 24, 1913 the daughter of James Alpheos and Lydia Drawz Pettit in Browerville, Minnesota. She had lived in Albuquerque from 1953 until 1998. Clarice was a member of University Heights United Methodist Church. She was active as the teacher of the Keystone Sunday School class for almost 30 years. Clarice was involved in the church music program and was the church historian. She and her husband also volunteered at The Storehouse. She was a registered nurse and retired from Lovelace Clinic. When she moved to Kansas, Clarice attended the United Methodist Church in DeSoto. Clarice was preceded in death by her husband Elvin Lawrence Stevens in 1999. She is survived by two daughters, Lydia Rodgers and husband Jim of Olathe, KS, and Kathie Goodrich and husband Sam of Simsbury, CT.; three grandchildren, Kim Glasgow, Sami Hobbs, and Brian Rodgers; and nine great-grandchildren. The Service for Clarice will be on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 1:30 PM at the University Heights United Methodist Church, 2210 Silver Ave. SE, Albuquerque, with Rev. Craig Mull officiating. Pallbearers will be: Tim Glasgow, Kevin Goodrich, Tony Goodrich, Kevin Hobbs, Marvin Martinez and Michael Martinez. It has been suggested that memorial contributions be made in Clarice name to Catholic Charities Hospice, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, KS 66102 or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 710 West 168th Street, New York, NY 10032.
