HERRERA -- Ms. Rosalie A. (Rose) Herrera, a resident of Albuquerque born in Gallup, New Mexico passed away on December 24, 2003 with her loving family by her side on her last peaceful day. Bless our beautiful Rose. Ms. Herrera is survived by her beloved mother, Jose G. Herrera; a brother, Manuel Herrera; her loving nephew and Godson, Justin Herrera from Albuquerque; two half brothers, Mark and Michael Herrera; loving caregivers, Auntie Martha D. Chavez from Gallup, cousins Patricia L. Chavez from Albuquerque and Debra Lucero of Albuquerque; other relatives, Theresa D. Alonzo and family from Gallup, Donna M. Chavez and family from Albuquerque, Derrick Chavez and family from Gallup, Uncle Anthony Gurule and family from Phoenix, Uncle Joey Herrera and family from Gallup, her Godson, Dominic Everett of Albuquerque and other relatives from Albuquerque, Gallup and California. Ms. Herrera was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Herrera and grandparents, Tony and Rose Gurule and an uncle, John E. Chavez. Ms. Herrera was a graduate of Rio Grande High School. She was employed with Ethicon Johnson and Johnson. Her hobbies included watching her favorite NFL team, Atlanta and also enjoyed the sport of boxing and her many trips to Miami. Ms. Herrera was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Memorial Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Lewis and Beatrice Trujillo. A final visitation will be Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Father Joel Garner, Presider of the Mass. The family requests that any donations be made to Presbyterian Hospice or to a Cancer Organization of your choice. Interment of the Cremains will take place at a later date.
