WELSH -- Lola Nicholson Welsh, 80, a resident of Rio Rancho since 2001 passed away on Monday, December 15, 2003. Lola moved to Rio Rancho to be near her grandson, John Paul Nicholson and his family. She was born February 17, 1923 the daughter of Joseph G. and Mary Miller Hargrave in Belzone, Mississippi. Lola came to New Mexico from Shreveport, Louisiana where she had resided since 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lillie Dale King and Julie Mae Garred; her first husband John Paul Nicholson and her second husband, Frank Lester Welsh. She is survived by two sons, Paul Alexander Nicholson and Joseph Phillip Nicholson; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, December 19, 2003 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a Memorial Service being held at 3:30 p.m. in the Family Room at Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. It has been suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Mexico, 5301 Central Av. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
