TRUJILLO -- Jesse J. Trujillo. The world became a better place when Jesse was born on November 19, 1924 to Trinidad and Genoveva Trujillo. He grew up in the Sawmill neighborhood of Albuquerque with seven brothers and sisters and scores of friends who love him still today. He graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended St. Joseph's College and illegally enlisted in the Navy at 17 years old to fight in World War II. He returned to Albuquerque in 1946, when he met Esther Shaw on Christmas night. They were married in 1947 and completed their family by having three children, Clara, Patrick and Steve. In pursuit of a better life he moved his family to Southern California in 1960 and established a career in the aerospace industry. Working as a contract negotiator for McDonald Douglas and retiring in 1990 after 25 years of service. Always demonstrating a strong work ethic Jesse owned and operated Southwestern Tax Service a bookkeeping and tax preparation service for 30 years, until his passing. In addition, Jesse volunteered his time with numerous organizations through out his life. As an interpreter with The Flying Samaritans doing medical work in Baja, Mexico and recently as the treasure for The City of Hope Foundation and as precinct supervisor during Long Beach city and Los Angeles county elections, to mention a few. Jesse's other passion was his family; his wife of 55 years Esther; his three children, Clara Rasmussen of West Covina, CA, Patrick Trujillo of Albuquerque, NM and Steve Trujillo of Laguna Niguel, CA; his five beautiful grandchildren, Geoff and Nicolle Rasmussen, Noah, Maya and Travis Trujillo; his daughter-in-law, Evangeline Sandoval Trujillo; and his six great-grandchildren, Gianni, Breanna, Cameron, Christian, Geoffrey Jr., and Madisyn; his step-grandchildren, Heather Wrzeninski, Natalie Vigil and Erica Sanchez; and his step-great- grandchildren, Hunter, Xavier and Jenica. His pride for his family was displayed by his enduring love, commitment to their happiness, and the thousands of photographs he took of them. He fulfilled his life by giving of himself to those fortunate and less fortunate. He was a role model as a son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Jesse left us on November 23, 2003 and his remains will be buried in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico in a military ceremony at 1:30 p.m., December 12, 2003. He will be remembered by all the lives he touched and for making this a better world for us all.
