BARRIGA -- Francisco (Chico) R. Barriga, age 86, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called by the Lord our Savior to His heavenly home, the early morning of Wednesday, December 3, 2003. Francisco was a resident of Meadow Lake, NM formerly of Presidio, TX. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army; and was a past member of the Disabled American Veterans in San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by two children, Jose and Georginia; grandson, Daniel; and granddaughter, Blanca Rosa. Francisco is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Socorro Barriga of the family home; his children, Frank Barriga, Jr. and wife Jesusita, Socorro Sotelo and husband Roberto, Ezequiel Barriga and wife Alicia, Eliseo Barriga and wife Mary, Mario Barriga and wife Darlene, Ninfa, Mando, Lorina, Oscar, and Ivan Barriga; 29 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ramon Barriga of Presidio, TX; other relatives and friends. Francisco will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations for Mr. Barriga will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary; where a Rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Casket bearers will be his sons, Frank, Jr., Ezequiel, Eliseo, Mario, Mando, Oscar and Ivan Barriga.
