BRIGGS -- Clayton Everett Briggs went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 20, 2003. He was 91. He was born November 13, 1912 in Durango, CO. He met his sweetheart, Viola Rowe while working at her father's gold mine in the La Plata Mountains They were married December 24, 1936. They moved to Bremerton, Washington where he worked in the shipyards during WWII. After the war they returned to Colorado where he tried his hand at farming. In 1950 they moved to Albuquerque where Clayton became a proud charter member of Sheet Metal Workers, Local Union 49, for 50 years. Clayton is survived by his wife, Viola of the family home; a son, Gary and his wife of Las Cruces, NM; a daughter, Beverly Briggs of the family home. He is also survived by five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. At his request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial will be held in his honor on December 6, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at 4400 Silver SE, Albuquerque, NM. In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be sent to Hospice, 601 Martin Luther King Blvd NE, Unit 10 West, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
