OLIVER -- Richard Earl Oliver, 18, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, November 15, 2003. He is survived by his parents, Duke and Linda Oliver of Albuquerque; brothers, Patrick Oliver and wife, Kristen of Dallas, TX, Brandon Oliver, currently serving in Iraq and fiance, Valerie Abeyta of Albuquerque; sister, Lindsey Oliver of Albuquerque; girlfriend, Stephanie Bogle of Estancia, NM; grandmother, Pauline Oliver of Albuquerque; grandparents, Richard and Tillie "Oma" Golby of Albuquerque; aunts, Debbie Pearce, Dianna Sigler and Mike Caddell, Denise Sigler and husband, John, Donna Burkhammer, and Dawn Hoffman and husband, Kevin; uncles, David Oliver and wife, Pam, Doug Oliver and wife, Joanna, and Richard Golby and wife, Jeanie, and Kenneth Golby; nephews, Justin, Jacob, and Jace Oliver; and numerous great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Earl D. Oliver and cousin, Amelia Golby. Richard was born in Albuquerque on October 20, 1985 and was presently a Senior at Manzano High School. He was a starting center for the Manzano High School football team. He also was on the Track and Field Team. Richard lettered academically and in football. He also had time to be the batboy for the Isotopes. While growing up he also played for Mile High and YAFL and also participated in organized karate and soccer. Richard enjoyed golfing, fishing, jet skiing, cooking and most of all EATING. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his friends, and kids of all ages. His sense of humor and smile never ended. Services will be held Monday, November 24, 2003, 2:30 p.m., at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3100 Morris NE, with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be members of the Manzano Football Team. Friends may visit Sunday, November 23, 2003, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rio Grande Credit Union, 1401 San Pedro in Richard's name.
