ANDREWS -- William Edward Andrews, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2003. Mr. Andrews was born in Shelby, North Carolina on May 11, 1923. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Bigham Andrews; son, Robert F. Andrews and wife, Anita; daughter, Susan A. Joseph and husband. S. John Joseph of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Robert F. Andrews Jr., Sarah E. C. Andrews, Christopher J. Joseph and Amy A. Joseph. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Andrews and Ruth W. Andrews; one brother, Ralph Wilson, "Andy" Andrews; and a son, Joseph Rex Andrews. Mr. Andrews worked at Sandia Laboratories for 35 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a founder of Andrews Pueblo Pottery, a fixture in Old Town for thirty years. Mr. Andrews was also an organizer and chaperone of Teenage Study Tours in 1959, which took high school students to Europe. A Memorial Service will be held at Strong-Thorne Mortuary on Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Brittain Presbyterian Church in Westminster, North Carolina
