SUTTI -- Barbara Jean Sutti, age 67, died in Albuquerque on October 21, 2003 after a short illness. She was born September 18, l936 in Chowchilla, California to Joe Sutti and Virginia Tisseyre. Ms. Sutti is survived by her partner, Ruth Snyder; and a family of friends in New Mexico. Barbara is also survived by brother, Pete Sutti; sister, Lucille Olave; nephews, Louis Olave and Steve Sutti; and nieces, Linda Brown, Sandy Olave, Karen Griego and Dawn Sutti, all of California. Ms. Sutti worked for Indian Health Service in Phoenix before moving to New Mexico in the early 1960's. She taught at Southwest Indian Polytechnical Institute (SIPI) and the University of New Mexico Dental Hygiene programs. Ms. Sutti also worked in home health care in the Estancia Valley. Barbara was an avid hiker. She won numerous 5K-walk competitions between 1989 and 1992. She loved animals, birds, and nature. Each year she participated in the Audubon Society annual bird count and various projects to preserve wild lands and wildlife. Cremation has taken place. An informal Gathering for Remembrance will be held Saturday, November 1, 2003 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Sunrise Funeral Options, 7601 Wyoming NE.
