STRICKLIN -- Sybil J. Stricklin, born February 3, 1934, passed away quietly at home on Thursday, October 16, 2003, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jerry Stricklin; daughters, Marla Stricklin and Darla Bakke and husband, Lonnie; grandchildren, Sean Bakke and girlfriend, Penny Nail, Nicole Bakke, Jacob Stricklin and Jordan Bakke, all of Albuquerque; sister, Gloria Inge and husband, Bob of Portales; brother, Jerry Carter and wife, Ana of Dade County, FL; stepbrothers, Ray and Alfred Corzine; and stepsister, Marnell Turner; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, James Ray Stricklin and her parents Newman and Fay Carter; and stepmother, Pauline. She was a Mother Advisor of Rainbow for many years in Albuquerque and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She loved bowling, sewing, needlework, collecting Indian memorabilia, and miniatures. She will be missed by her many friends and family. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Friday, October 17, 2003, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with visitation also taking place at Wheeler Mortuary in Portales, NM, Sunday, October 19, 2003, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Monday, October 20, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at Portales Cemetery.
