MENDEZ -- Anna Tabora Mendez, 58, a lifelong resident of Los Lunas, passed away September 24, 2003. She is survived by her son, Rod Collins and Dorothy Sanchez; daughters, Lisa Collins and Ron Grindal, and Monica Lente and husband, Joshua; three grandchildren, Amanda Collins, Alicia Carabajal and Adriana Carabajal; six sisters, Becky Canotal and husband, Noe, Sandra Tabora, Polly Castillo and husband, Jimmy, Valerie Gurule and husband, Tommy, Renee Tabora and Norman Velasco, and Cindy Rael and husband, Ernest. She had 14 nieces and nephews, and ten great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Faustino Mendez; grandmother, Petra Tafoya, and parents, Dimas Tabora and Estefena Tabora. The oldest of seven sisters, she loved puzzles, games, dancing, bowling. She loved life itself and was always thinking of others before herself. She was loved and depended upon by friends and family, and a second mom to many nieces and nephews. Her presence and her laughter will be greatly missed. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 25, 2003, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Peralta. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Friday, September 26, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, with Fr. Hilaire Valiquette, Celebrant, officiating.
