MERILATT -- Elizabeth Marvin Merilatt, age 86, passed away in Tucson, Arizona on September 20, 2003. Born in Duluth, Minnesota, she graduated from Marietta College in Ohio. During the 1940s she was a staff writer for the Minneapolis Tribune and Star Journal. She retired in 1986 after 13 years of service with OSHA. She worked tirelessly for the Alliance for the Mentally Ill for over a decade, serving as a contributor to its national newsletter and as the Governmental Affairs Chairperson for the New Mexico Alliance. Preceded in death by her husband, George; she is survived by her daughter, Leslie Broughton and sons, Philip and Scott. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2003 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
