Richey -- Lorene (Rogers) Richey, a resident of Albuquerque since the early 1950's, died peacefully in her sleep, Thursday, August 20, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Dona Arnot and husband, Gene; granddaughters, Dee Dee Butterfield and Debi Arnot, all of Albuquerque; niece, Vicki Rigdon and her family of Amarillo, TX; daughter-in-law, LaRue (Richey) Parramore; grandsons, Lawrence Richey and Lowell Richey; and four great-grandchildren, all of Lubbock, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Richey; sister, Cora Mae Burt; brother, York Rogers; and son, Karl Richey. Lorene was born June 13, 1910 in the Territory of New Mexico to Florence (Littrell) and Ralph Rogers on their Ranch at Hardscrabble, east of Maxwell. She lived in Cimmaron, Raton, and Las Vegas, before coming to Albuquerque. Lorene was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was active in United Methodist Women. Her cremains have joined those of her husband and son at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name for the Elementary Sunday School at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
