Mares -- Florepa"Papa" Mares, 67 a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, died Thursday, August 20, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Vegaras; grandson, Carlos Vegaras; granddaughter, Valerie Vegaras, all of Roswell, NM; brothers, Ezekiel Mares and wife, Mercedes of Los Lunas, NM and Mariano Mares, Jr. and wife, Angie of Roswell, NM; sisters, Mary Viola Baldonado and husband, Ramon of Albuquerque and Elizabeth Gallegos, of Albuquerque, and Vivian Sena and husband, Jesse of Clovis, NM; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. Papa loved painting, embroidery, cooking, and she was known for her popsicles. She was active in different club activities. Papa loved her family and she will be missed by all who knew here. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas & Tennessee NE, with Fr. Michael Cimino, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Sunday, 3:00 p.m. till time of Rosary.
