Coates -- Marjorie G. Coates, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 1998 at Kaseman Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John M. Coates of Albuquerque; a daughter, Nan Coates of Albuquerque; a sister, Florence Cech of Scottsdale, AZ; a brother, William Grieve of Decatur, Il; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives by marriage. Mrs. Coates was preceded in death by a son, John Coates II; and her parents, Gilbert and Florence Grieve. There will be no visitation since cremation has taken place. There will, however, be a memorial service for Mrs. Coates at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo del Norte NE, Friday, August 28, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. The family has requested that memorials go to either the Humane Society of New Mexico, 615 Virginia SE 87108 or to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas Blvd. NE 87110.
