Lucero -- David R. Lucero (aka) David Duck, 49, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1972, died Sunday, August 30, 1998. He is survived by his father, Rafael F. Lucero of Brighton, CO; four sisters, Irene Torres and husband, John, Senaida Sean, all of Ft. Lupton, CO, Mary O. Montoya of Commerce City, CO, and Sally Garrett and husband, Chuck of Thornton, CO; five brothers, Henry Lucero and wife, Stella of California, Ralph Lucero and wife, Michelle of Brighton, CO, Manuel Lucero and wife, Rose, James Lucero, all of Thornton, CO, William Lucero of Aurora, CO; partner, S. Craig Tays of Albuquerque; numerous nieces and nephews; very special friends, Kate Bradshaw and Sydney Eusepi, both of Albuquerque, and Alix Carilli of La Luz, NM; Auntie Debbie, Uncle Bill, Richard Lee and Mike Hogrebee; acquired sister, Helen Potter; famous friends, C.J. (Carroll) (Johnson), Little Michael, Tanya and Tina Lebam; and longtime friends, Steve and his son, Jessie Benoit, and Kay Nation; and supernatural friends, Ken and Gail. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tomasita Lucero; and brothers, Guadalupe Lucero and Fred Chavez. Mr. Lucero was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a medic and received the Purple Heart. He was an artist, carpenter, musician, gardener, and was instrumental in the restoration of Madrid, NM. Mass was celebrated Wednesday, 12:00 noon, at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 Plaza NW, with Fr. Leo Lucero, Celebrant. Pallbearers were Kate Bradshaw, Sydney Eusepi, S. Craig Tays, Alix Carilli, John Montoya, and Henry Lucero. A memorial tribute following the Mass was celebrated in the park in Madrid, NM at 4:00 p.m. Cremation followed the services and interment of cremains will take place in Brighton, CO.
