Tingley -- Carol Tingley, a resident of Albuquerque since 1981, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 1998. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Col. Ronald D."Doug" Tingley, USAF (Ret.) of Albuquerque; son, Rodney Lyle Tingley of Albuquerque; daughter, Teri J."T.J." Tingley of Anchorage, AK; sister, Romayne Davis and husband, Irv of Fallbrook, CA. She was the daughter of Walter C. Kern, Jr. and Blanche O'Neil of Santa Ana, CA. She graduated in 1955 from UNM with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and was a member of Pi Beta Phi. Mrs. Tingley was an artist, active docent for the Albuquerque Zoo, part owner of two Le Peep Restaurants, a supporter of Lobo Activities, and enjoyed traveling with her daughter. She accompanied her husband during his 26 years in the U.S. Air Force in Texas, South Carolina, France, Nevada and Alaska. They retired to New Mexico in 1981. She was a student of Christian Science and an active member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist-Rio Rancho. Carol's expression of love will always be cherished by all who knew her. Services will be Tuesday, 12:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. with Kathleen Redden officiating. Private interment will take place. Pallbearers will be nephews, Kely Davis, Kern Davis, and David Ryan; cousin, Phillip Menicucci; friend, Mark Salberg and son, Rod Tingley. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Rio Grande Zoological Park, 903 10th SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102, or the charity of your choice.
