Keene -- R. Michael Keene passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side at the University of New Mexico Hospital on Friday, October 23, 1998. He was born July 24, 1942 in Pasadena, CA. A longtime resident of Placitas and Estancia, he enjoyed blacksmithing, fishing, and his career as a painter. Survivors include his sister, Cheryl Patchin and husband, Jerry; sons, Dean Keene and wife, Loni and Brent Keene; his niece, Kellie Senn and husband, Keith, all of California; and his nephew, Adam Wall and wife, Janet; and two great-nephews, Jacob and Justin, all of Idaho. He is also survived by many close friends in the surrounding Albuquerque area. In keeping with Michael's wishes, cremation has taken place and memorial services will be private. Cremation arrangements are by Sunrise Society, (891-8200).
