Milosevich -- John (Milo) Milosevich lost his courageous battle with lung cancer and passed to his eternal dwelling place on Sunday, October 25, 1998. He was born February 24, 1930 in Trinidad, CO to Andy and Ivka Milosevich who preceded him in death in 1970 and 1981. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, George A. Givens in 1978; and only son, George Andrew Milosevich in 1989. Mr. Milosevich is survived by his wife of 45 years, Hazel Ann; children, Randy and Francie Kaufman; grandchildren, Joshua Lee, Leighton Brice and Mandi Brianne, all of the family home in Albuquerque; grandson, Jacob John (Milosevich) Hamlin of Pueblo, CO; mother-in-law, Frances Givens of Albuquerque; and numerous other relatives and friends. Milo was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy/Korean War of which he served from 1950 to 1954. He was a member of the Croation Fraternal Union of America-Lodge 284 of Trinidad, CO. He joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 611 in 1956. He worked as an Inside Wireman, Labor Organizer, Assistant Business Manager and Business Manager/Financial Secretary. He served on various boards as a Trustee for IBEW/NECA 7th District Pension/Health and Welfare Plans. He authored a four year course for Apprentice Wireman and started the first Line Apprentice program for Transmission/Distribution Linemen. These programs were adopted for the 7th District IBEW in New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. He was a past President of the New Mexico AFL/CIO and of the New Mexico Building Trades Council. He served in Labor Relations and as Field Superintendent at Los Alamos in the construction of the Plutonium Facility until his retirement in 1978. He helped build and was a 1970 Charter Member and first Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge 2500 in Rio Rancho. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason since 1968. The family wishes to express sincere thanks for all of the compassion and TLC shown to them by Dr. Charles D. Stutzman and wonderful ladies of St. Joseph Regional Cancer Center, Dr. Edwin Cruz and staff, the staff of X-Ray Associates-St. Josephs West Side and special heartfelt thanks to each one of the care givers at Presbyterian Hospice with big hugs to Linda Mills, Wanda Brasgala and our own at-home care nurses and new friends, Lin Sorenson and Susan Szczepaniak. Pallbearers will be Randy Kaufman, Jacob (Milosevich) Hamlin, Joshua Kaufman, Leighton Kaufman, Don Guarienti and Kip Myers. Honorary pallbearers are Mandi Kaufman, Ron Guarienti, Harry Carson, Lou Chavez, Glenn Frazier, Guiellermo Hernandez, Ferdy Martinez, Ole Olsen and Larry Perea. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorial contributions to Presbyterian Hospice Foundation, 8300 Constitution Ave. NE 87110. Services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
