Blaes -- Mr. Robert O. Blaes died on November 7, 1999, after a long battle with cancer, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, lifted our precious Robert, age 66, into His gentle arms and carried him home to heaven to be with Him forever. Robert was born on September 19, 1933 in Belleville, IL and resided in Albuquerque since 1953. He is survived by his wife of nearly 17 years, Theresa Catherine; and four children, Robert Alan and wife, Kerri of Denver, CO, Richard Lee and wife, Judy of Denver, CO, Debra (Blaes) Nixon and husband, Steven of Albuquerque, and William Brian and wife, Jackie of Denver, CO; and three step-children, Charles John Cerutti and wife, Jennifer of Albuquerque, J. Stephen Cerutti of Dallas, TX, and Amy Beth Cerutti of Albuquerque; and 13 grandchildren who will miss him very much. He is also survived by three brothers, Donald of Belleville, IL, Dale of Belleville, IL, and Russ of St. Louis, IL; and his sister, Carol Blue of Belleville, IL. He dedicated 33 years of service to US West in various departments. He helped found Roadrunner Little League and dedicated 25 years to the promotion of youth Little League baseball and the Boy Scouts of America. He greatly enjoyed his fellowship with his Model T buddies over the last six years. Funeral services will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 12500 Carmel Ave. NE on Tuesday, November 9, 1999, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to the Robert O. Blaes Memorial Scholarship Fund at Eldorado High School, 11300 Montgomery NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111, for special needs students continuing on to a vocational school or college.
