Rael -- Severo Rael, 74, passed away at home, October 23, 1999 after a long battle with cancer. A native New Mexican, he served proudly aboard the USS Colorado in WWII, an accomplished general contractor and owner of Severo Rael Construction Co. He is survived by his wife, Angie Rael; sons, Ralph Vigilante and wife, Stacey, Jack Vigilante and wife, Norma, Jerry Rael and wife, Joann, and pat Rael; daughters, Emma Lopez and husband, Julian, Emily Buford, and numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; brothers, Anastacio, Ysidro, and Joe; sisters, Frances, Cecilia, Florence, and numerous family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 1999, with burial following at Santa Fe national Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1520 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM, 87124. The family would like to thank Sandia Hospice for their care.
