Leffler -- LaVerne Clark Leffler, 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Saturday, October 23, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Walter, of the family home; sons, Albert, and his wife, Kathy of Phoenix, Arizona, and Douglas, and his wife, Nancy of Rio Rancho; daughters, Beverly Chavez and her husband Bill of Albuquerque, Candace, and her companion Robert Sisneros of Santa Fe; and six grandchildren, Ambre Leffler, Holly Leffler, Erin Chavez, Ryan Chavez, Kaitlyn Leffler and Glenna Leffler. Additionally, LaVerne is survived by her nephew, David Stephens, and his wife, Sharon of Colorado Springs; niece, Georgia Stephens of Shreveport; and great-niece, Jennifer Stephens of Santa Fe. She was born in Dickens, Texas, and graduated from Amarillo High School and Texas Tech University and was an active and long-time member of Second Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. She was also a member of the Martineztown House of Neighborly Service Auxiliary in Albuquerque and Church Women Untied. LaVerne was a member of PEO Chapter AM. Memorial services will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 812 Edith NE, Albuquerque, on Wednesday, October 27, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Tony Chavez, officiating and Reverend Jaime Quinones, assisting. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Martineztown House of Neighborly Service, 808 Edith NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87102.
