Burnett -- Clinton Burnett, 81, of Broadview, NM, passed away October 17, 1999. Clinton was born July 31, 1918 in Bellview, NM, the son of Thomas E. and Mazie (Mitchell) Burnett. He married Mary Frances Green on July 27, 1940 in Clovis. He lived, ranched and farmed in the Bellview, Broadview communities for most of his life. He had lived in Gatesville for six years, where he ranched. He was a member of Broadview Church of Christ. Mr. Burnett is survived by his wife, Frances Burnett of the family home; sons, Larry K. Burnett of Estancia and Michael D. Burnett of Clovis; daughter, Sherry Wellborn of Quemado, NM; brother, Elmer Burnett of Clovis; sister, Pauline Campbell of Clovis; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Williams; brother, Tom Burnett Jr.; and granddaughter, Amanda. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 20, 1999, 11:00 a.m., at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Paul Burwash officiating, and Rev. Leonard Mitchell, assisting. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Clinton Wellborn, Jeff Wellborn, Jared Burnett, Derek Burnett, Christopher Burnett and Dwight Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Carroll Briggs, Wandel Massey, Bud Shipley, Joe Hatley, Ralph Burnett, Leonard Mitchell, and all his friends and neighbors.
