Torres -- Mr. Andres L. Torres, 79, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on October 18, 1999. Mr. Torres is the beloved husband of 54 years to Mary Torres. He is also survived by five daughters, Catherine Leyba and husband, Ernest, Josephine Lovato and husband, Gene, Judy Devore and husband, Bob, Debra Torres and friend, Adele Sanchez and Helen Garcia and husband, Jerry; one son, Richard Torres and wife, Linda; three brothers, Danny Torres and wife, Tommie, Robert Torres and wife, Stella and Fred Torres and wife, Clara; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Torres was a member of the Catholic church, Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II and is a Pearl Harbor survivor, member of the Legion of Mary, also a Disciple of Jesus and Mary S.O.L.T. Founder of West Side Little League. He was the chef at the original Hacienda Dining Room. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 4080 St. Joseph Pl NW. Visitation will be at the church after 6:30 p.m. The Legion of Mary, reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church with final viewing at the church after 8:30 a.m. Father Frank Prieto, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Time to be announced. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements.
