Isenhower -- Harold William Isenhower, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly after a long illness, Wednesday, October 13, 1999, to be with other veterans who served their country honorably. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Frances Isenhower of the family home; daughter, Phyllis A. Barker and husband, Michael; son, William H. Isenhower, all of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Teresa Feyerabend and husband, Greg; grandson, Jason Barker; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremiah and Julia Feyerabend; four sisters, Kate Riley, June Steed and husband, Bill, Joyce Walker and Nettie Studdard, all of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Isenhower was born on June 9, 1921 in Sullivan, MO. He served in the Asiatic Theater during WWII. Mr. Isenhower was a Bataan Prisoner of War and a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal and many other medals. He was a member of the American X-Prisoners of War, D.A.V., V.F.W. Post 401 and Defenders of Bataan & Corregidor. Mr. Isenhower founded the V.A.M.C. Radio Station at the V.A. Hospital and was also a member of the Albuquerque Amateur Radio Club. He had 20 1/2 years of Federal Service with the U.S. Navy and the F.A.A., working as a radioman and radar electronics technician. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with Chaplain Lemuel M. Boyles officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Department of New Mexico, P.O. Box 3907 #D, 87190. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
