Nakashima -- Helen K. Nakashima, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died Monday, October 11, 1999. She is survived by her husband, John S. Nakashima of the family home; daughters, Laura Nakashima and Shelli Simpson and husband, David all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Shannon and Michelle, also of Albuquerque; brothers, Ben Miyahara, Peter Miyahara, and Richard Miyahara; and sisters, Dorothy Ishihara and Flo Murakami. Cremation has taken place and burial will be held at Fairmont Cemetery in Denver, CO. A memorial celebration of Helen's life will be held at the home of Shelli Simpson at a later date. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. in charge of arrangements.
