Mcdonald -- Thomas Bureau McDonald, 35, beloved son of Clyde Ray and Eileen McDonald, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 9, 1999. Tom is survived by his brother, Clyde (Tuffy) and wife, Darcy, and their children, Alexander Thomas, Grace Eileen and Claire Karen of Fullerton, CA; brothers, Michael and James of Albuquerque; grandmothers, Gertrude Bureau and Beulah McDonald, both of Albuquerque; aunts, Linda Keleher and husband, John of Aspen, CO and Barbara Bureau of Albuquerque; uncle, Tommy McDonald and wife, Patty of King of Prussia, PA; and many cousins and countless friends. Tom, an Albuquerque native, graduated from Albuquerque High School. He attended the University of New Mexico and graduated from Western New Mexico University, where he served two terms as Student Body President. He received his Master of Criminal Justice degree from NMSU, where he served as the first student Regent on the NMSU Board of Regents. Tom was employed as a private investigator. He was currently serving a six-year term on the Governor's Commission for Higher Education as a delegate at large. Tom was an outdoorsman who loved photography, fishing, hunting, racquetball, and water and snow skiing. He was a longtime member of Ducks Unlimited. Tom will be remembered for his sunny nature, his willingness to help others, and his zest for life. Laughter followed him everywhere. He will be sorely missed. A service in celebration of Tom's life will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Tuffy McDonald, Mike McDonald, Jim McDonald, Rudy Otero, Steve Gerstel, Tim Galles, Tom Grady, Richard Quintana and all who loved Tom as we did. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wednesday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Tom's memory to the Rudy Otero memorial trust fund at any 1st State Bank location.
