Smith -- Robert Jack Smith, a resident of Albuquerque, NM for 15 years, died of complications of pneumonia on October 6, 1999. He was born in Red Oak, Iowa in 1923. At age 6 he moved to Wyoming, where he resided until 1985. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy; five children, Carolyn, Patty, Bryan, Kent, Scott; and three grandchildren. During WWII he served in the Air Force in Europe. He graduated from the University of Wyoming in electrical engineering in 1948. He established Robert Jack Smith and Associates, a land surveying and engineering firm. In 1976, he and James Toler founded the firm Sur-Con in Albuquerque. He was a member of the Wyoming Association of Consulting Engineers and Surveyors, the Wyoming Engineering Society (WES), and the Professional Land Surveyors of Wyoming. He helped to institute the surveying program at TVI in Albuquerque. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Memorial Services will be held October 12, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque.
