Castaneda -- Helen Castaneda, age 60, of Tijeras, died Friday, September 24, in a local hospital. Rosary was said Monday, September 27, 7:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Davis, Texas. Mass was Tuesday, September 28, 10:00 a.m., with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Geeslin Funeral Home. Mrs. Castaneda was born March 18, 1939 to Mr. and Mrs. Eloy Jimenez in Ft. Davis. She had been a resident of Tijeras for many years. Survivors include her spouse, Carlos Castaneda of Tijeras; two sons, Carlos Castaneda Jr. and Eloy Castaneda of Tijeras; and one daughter, Lucy Castaneda, also of Tijeras. The Castaneda family would like to thank Frank Barreras for taking Father John Carney and Julian Garcia to Fort Davis, TX--Father John gave the Rosary on Monday, September 27, 1999; Mass and Burial services were on Tuesday, September 28, 1999; also thanks to those who came from far and near, those who called, and gave cards.
