After a long illness, the Lord Jesus Christ received Barbara Alice Perkins in to His arms on Thursday, November 25, 1999. Barbara was born November 21, 1937 in Raton, NM the daughter of Pope and Alice Slater Gossett. She was a longtime resident of Albuquerque. Barbara attended the University of New Mexico, and married George in 1956. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord by serving her family, in so many wonderful ways, for all of her days. Barbara is survived by her loving husband and best friend, W. George Perkins. Barbara was a wonderful mother to Charlotte Miller and her husband, David of Albuquerque, Sean Perkins and his wife, Tiffin of Las Vegas, NV and Sheldon Perkins of Albuquerque. Her adoring grandchildren include Tosh Miller and Ethan Gabrielle, Gracelyn and Isaac Perkins. Barbara also left behind two brothers, Clyde Gossett of Friona, TX and Bill Gossett of Grand Junction, CO, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 28, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. at Desert Springs Church, 7509 Paseo del Norte NE. A private innichment will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested."Her children rise up and bless her; her husband also, and he praises her saying:"Many daughters have done nobly, but you exceed them all."
