Cruz -- Estella R. Cruz, 78, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 1999. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and most especially by her daughters, sisters and brother. She was preceded in death by her mother, Trinidad Contreras. Estella is survived by her daughters, Gloria Cruz-Nighbert and husband, Terry of Albuquerque and SiNa Ya (Judith Ann) Cruz and good friend, Jay Miles of Dilly, ME; sisters, Elenor Harris, Mary Abrams and husband, Bob, Alice Tafoya and InezMaddalen and husband, Vincent; brother, Ralph Rodriguez and wife, Sarah, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ricardo Cruz, Tamara Nighbert and Matthew Nighbert and wife, Virginia, all of Albuquerque, Milissa Martinez, Monica Martinez, Jose Martinez, and Ralphael Martinez, all of Santa Fe; and great- grandchildren, Brian August Vigil and Rudy Vigil, both of Santa Fe. Born in Dawson, NM on August 21, 1921, she moved to Albuquerque in 1950 and relocated to Santa Fe in 1964. Estella was employed by the State of New Mexico as an auditor for the Bureau of Revenue for 20 years, retired in 1984 and re-settled in Albuquerque. She was an active member of the Covenant of Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church and will be greatly missed by her beloved church family. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor John Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Vincent Maddalen, Reece Westfall, Matthew Nighbert, Ricardo Cruz, Jose Martinez, and Ralphael Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Janelle Hunt, Jesse Garrett, and Robert Munoz. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank the staff of Presbyterian Hospice and the People Living Through Cancer. Estella loved well and is well loved. She would like to be remembered as a woman after God's own heart. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
