Simpson -- Raymond Christopher Simpson, 27, born July 23, 1972 at Albuquerque to Ronald and Monica (Weirauch) Bridges. He died September 2, 1999 at his home in Clovis, NM. Ray grew up in Clovis and graduated from Clovis High School in 1990. He received his Associates Degree from Clovis Community College. He married Tabatha Allen, March 17, 1990. He was currently employed as a patrolman for Eastern New Mexico University Police Department, Portales, NM. Prior to that he was involved with the Curry County Sheriff's Office as a reserve officer. He was of Catholic faith and had been active with youth sports programs. He had coach T-ball and Little League football. He is survived by his wife, Tabatha Simpson; and three children, Kristopher Simpson, Travis Simpson and Brittny Simpson, all of the home in Clovis; his mother and step-father, Monica and Bill Delk; his father and mother-in-law, Ray and Gloria Allen, all of Clovis; his grandparents, Don and Virginia Weirauch of Colorado Springs, CO and Slim and Grace Bridges of Albuquerque. A Rosary was held Sunday, September 5, 6:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Clovis and Mass was Monday, September 6, 1999, 3:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Carlos Chavez officiated. Burial followed at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were members of the Eastern New Mexico University Police Department, the Portales Police Department and Clovis Police Department. Honorary pallbearers were Cliff and Wendy Curry, Chad Allen, and members of Curry County Sheriff's Reserve Officers. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
