Savage -- Vivian Adele Savage, 89, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died October 4, 1999, at Clare Bridge Cottage in Richland Hills, TX. She was born April 1, 1910, in Grand Junction, CO, to Vance Maynard Pugh and Minnie Mae Gardner. She attended school in Rifle, CO and graduated from Rifle Union High School. While in high school, she frequently had lead singing roles in operettas and other musical programs. On November 25, 1937, she married James William Savage, Sr. in Denver, CO. They lived in Denver, CO and Los Alamos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM. Because of poor health, she moved to Texas in August 1999 to be near hear son. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church where for many years she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed needle work, working in her rose garden and watching the hummingbirds in her yard, but her greatest joy in life was her family. Survivors include one son, James William Savage, Jr. and wife, Debbi of Bedford, TX; three daughters, Joan Lee and husband, Joe of Idaho Falls, ID, Linda Szalay and husband, Jerry of El Rancho, NM and Donna McClure and husband, Paul of Nye, MT; eight grandchildren, Cameron Lee, Brady Lee, Diane Ehlert, Kimberly Coleman, Amanda McClure, Dillon McClure, Autumn Savage and Chelsea Savage; and six great-grandchildren, Jordan Ehlert, Madison, Marissa and Miranda Lee and Joey and Cassandra Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 9, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with The Rev. Sandra S. Bess officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
