Averill -- Henry (Bud) Kerr Averill, born June 27, 1922 in Ft. Wayne, IN, to Clyde S. Averill and Anna Kerr Averill; a resident of Albuquerque for 74 years, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 3, 1999 at a local hospital. Bud is survived by his wife, Jesusita (Jessie) Diaz Averill of Albuquerque; son, Dr. William Allen Averill of Placitas; daughters, Rev. Mary Kathleen Averill Erwin of Aztec, NM and Analisa Averill Martinez of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Michal La Dawn Erwin, Myranda Martinez, and Steven Hernando Martinez; one sister, Mariana (Billie) Averill Campbell of Albuquerque; and one brother, Clyde (Buzzy) S. Averill II of Tijeras, NM. Henry was very active as a master plumbing and heating contractor in the Albuquerque area. He was the Mechanical Supervisor for Mossman-Gladden Homes for 30 years and owned his own business for several years. He was instrumental in starting a non-union apprenticeship program for the plumbing trade in New Mexico and was a past president of the Albuquerque Plumbing Contractors Association. Henry served in the U.S. Army, First Division, in Europe during World War II. Henry was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and observing wildlife. At his request, no formal services will occur. Celebration of his life by family and friends took place on October 4, 1999. He was loved and respected by by family, friends and all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
