Tesch -- MSGT. Edward William Tesch (US Army Ret.), 63, a resident of Albuquerque for 16 years, died Thursday, August 12, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Melida Tesch of the family home; daughters, Melinda Tesch of Albuquerque and Theresa Berryhill and husband, Terrell of Raleigh, MS; son, Amar Tesch and wife, Alejandra of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Alicia, Amar II, Cecilia, Nicole, Adan, MariLou, Christi and Alex; brother, Harvey Tesch and wife, Gladys of Finksburg, MD and special niece, Melodie Ryan. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Tesch; parents, Louis and Alma Tesch; and stepfather, Richard Webster. Msgt. Tesch served two tours in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict and he received the Vietnam Gallentry Cross with Palm, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal along with numerous other medals and awards. After retiring in 1983, he went to work for the US Postal Service and he worked until his retirement in 1998. Mr. Tesch was a member of the VFW. He was a wonderful husband, loving father, an adoring grandfather, and was a very giving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Wake service will be held Monday, August 16, 1999, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. Raul Ortiz officiating. Prayer service will be held Tuesday, August 17, 1999, at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. Paul Baca officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Melodie Ryan, Pat Ryan, Rick Ganster, William Camejo, Terrell Berryhill, Scot Ganster, and Bobby Ganster. Honorary pallbearer will be Alicia Giangola Tesch. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Monday, August 16, 1999, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A special thanks to the staff at the St. Josephs 10th floor cancer unit and Dr. Rambhia.
