Donegon -- Phyllis Jean Donegon was born August 23, 1924 in Davenport, IA to Martin L. and Meta Doehler. She passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 7, 1999. Phyllis graduated from Davenport High School in 1942. She was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and she enjoyed using her time and talents to benefit her church. She was the church organist at Christ Lutheran Church in Albuquerque for 20 years and most recently served as the organist at Faith in Christ Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. She enjoyed learning and she was proficient in using computers for 24 years. She was a member of ADOWGA for many years and she held offices in this organization for four years. In addition to golfing, Phyllis enjoyed bowling, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She made time for her family, her church, and her many friends. She is survived by her husband, Dallas G. Donegon; and children, Gwynne E. Clear and husband, Bruce, C.J. (CT) Thurow and wife, Nancy of Louisville, KY, Pamela K. McPherson and husband, Gary of Las Cruces, Cheryl J. Guyer and husband, Paul, Glen Thurow and wife, Jean, Martha (Marty) Donegon, Ann Donegon Joiner, and Wendy Rodriguez. Along with her husband and children, 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren will greatly miss her. In the words of one of her grandchildren, she was the glue that held us together. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Faith in Christ Lutheran Church, 1750 Faith Ct. NE, with Pastor Roger Wohletz officiating. Her request was for memorials to be made to Faith in Christ Lutheran Church, 1750 Faith Court NE 87112, or to New Mexico Boys & Girls Ranch, 6209 Hendrix NE 87110.
