Paris -- Mary Dinah Paris, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1938, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 1999. She was the daughter of Luther and Arena Washington, and the widow of Arthur Paris, Sr. who all preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother and sister, and grandson, Robert Clayton in December 1998. Mrs. Paris is survived by two sons, Arthur Paris, Jr. (Bobbie) of Birmingham, AL and Robert Carlton Paris of Albuquerque; three daughters, Evelyn Johnson (Lonniel) of Los Angeles, CA, Tommie Marie Clayton of Albuquerque, and Rena Mae Bendaw and husband, Harold of Albuquerque; two stepdaughters, Billye Jo Henry and Jacqueline Woodward, both of Dallas, TX; sister, Frankie McDemmons of Tucson, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. She was an active member of Mt. Everest Chapter #3 O.E.S. where she had served as a worthy matron. Mrs. Paris was the mother of Grant Chapel AME, where she was active in the stewardess board and in past years the senior usher board, where she served as president. Services will be held Thursday, July 15, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Grant Chapel AME Church, 7920 Claremont, NE. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Bendaw home, 12617 Indian School Rd. NE, after the service. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, July 14, 1999, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
