Chavez -- Jerry Chavez, 59, a resident of Emeryville, CA, formerly of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 1999 in California. Jerry was born on May 22, 1940 in Albuquerque to Antonio and Nestora Chavez who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Geraldine A. Chavez; five sons, Jerry Chavez Jr. and wife Sielala, Daniel Chavez, Gilbert Chavez and Margie, Raymond Chavez and Jessica, all of California, and Jerry Chavez; three daughters, Antoinette Chavez, Sophia Chavez, all of California and Kathy Chavez; 13 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Tony Chavez and wife Sylvia, Dennis Chavez and wife Mary Ann of Albuquerque; three sisters, Rosemary Zamora and husband Bobby of Peralta, Irene Bustos and husband Tony of Los Lunas and Angela Vargas and husband Ramon of Meadowlake; and his aunt Carmen and husband Carlos of Albuquerque. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. A Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Stover. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Fr.Jack as celebrant. Interment will follow at Los Padilla's Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Louis Chavez, Fred Chavez, Dennis Chavez Jr., Andy Bustos, Raul Zamora and Joel Vargas. Funeral Services are in care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover SW, 243-5222.
