Martin -- Alice McNulty Martin, 78, a resident of New Mexico since 1946, died peacefully in the Hospice Unit of Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital, Sunday, June 20, 1999. The only wife of George E. Martin of El Rito, she is survived by their five children, Margaret Martin, Roberta Martin, George E. Martin and his wife, Joan Day-Martin, Annette Martin-Hill McCue, her husband, David McCue and Raymond A. Martin; grandchildren, Heather Hill, Jennifer and Matthew McCue, Christopher Day-Martin and Sarah Rae Martin; great-granddaughter, Kya Garduno; her twin sister, Margaret W. McNulty of Albuquerque; sisters, Eileen Dana of Long Island and Kathleen Hogerton and husband, Jack of Long Island; sisters-in-law, Dottie (Mrs. Alfred P.) McNulty of Cleveland, Roberta Martin Brosseau and husband, Ed of Santa Fe, and JoAnn Martin of El Rito; brother-in-law, John A. Martin and wife, Barbara of Santa Fe; special friends, Jack and Florence Kennedy; and many other family and friends. Alice retired from Bernalillo County in 1982 where she worked first in the Treasurer's office and then in the Finance office. She worked very actively with the Suicide and Crisis Prevention Center as a volunteer. She was named to Who's Who of American Women 1981-82 and Who's Who in the West 1982-83. She was active in the Republican Party for many years. She also worked many elections as a poll worker. During her life she was also active in real estate and the insurance business. During WWII she served in the WAAC from Nov. 1942 to Sept. 1943; the WAC from Sept. 1943 to her discharge as a First Lieutenant in May of 1946. Alice's family wishes to express their appreciation to her health care providers, Janet L. Blanchard, MD, and her staff, Holly S. Lehman, DC, and her associates and staff of Lehman Chiropractic Center, Tzenwaxolokuahtli, head of the Medicine Council of the Tetzkatlipoka Tradition of the Aztec's of Mexico, and his fellow healer Kanek; John Saiki, MD, and the entire staff of Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice, the staff of Presbyterian Home Care, and the caregivers from Eldercare of NM. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 9:00 a.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Paul Baca, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit one hour prior to Rosary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kaseman Presbyterian, 405 Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. NE 87102.
