Montoya -- Fidel A. Montoya, 75, a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother was called home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 1, 1999. Mr. Montoya was born in Magdalena, NM to Felipe and Telesfora Montoya. He was a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, a proud veteran of the United States Army who served his country during World War II. He met the love of his life, Carmen Sanchez, whom he married on May 4, 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Timothy Lovato. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carmen Montoya of the family home; three sons, Victor Montoya and wife, Virginia of Arvado, CO, John Mares and wife, Bernadette of Albuquerque and Robbie Romero, also of Albuquerque; four daughters, Debbie Aragon and husband, Lester of Albuquerque, Jeanette Morrison of Dallas, TX, Anita Morrison and Karen Gallegos, both of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are one brother, Bernard Montoya of Mesa, AZ; and one sister, Josephine Ortiz of Albuquerque. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Iron where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial is pending and will be announced. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Lester Aragon, Robbie Romero, Victor Montoya, John Mares, Brian Aragon and Ramiro Reyes. Funeral Services are under the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222.
