Henning -- Daphna A. Henning, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, died Friday, April 30, 1999, in a local nursing home. She is survived by three sons, Bob G. Henning and his former wife, Carolyn, Larry D. Henning and wife, Marci, and Jack L. Henning and his wife, Kathy; two grandchildren, Barbara Tedder and Pat Staggs; six great-grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Jessica, John, Bradley and Ryan. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Henning; four brothers, Roy, Wassa, John and Roscoe; three sisters, Addie, Minnie and Pearl. Mrs. Henning was the Cafeteria Manager at Mountain View Elementary School for over 20 years. She was a starting forward for the 1927 Rocky Ford High School Colorado State Runner-up basketball team. She was very proud of the fact that she had traveled the Oregon Trail by covered wagon. Mrs. Henning was a 4-H leader in the Mountain View area for many years. She also lived and owned property at Bluewater Lake and enjoyed the outdoors. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 3, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
