Hueter -- John M. (Jack) Hueter, born June 1, 1924 in San Francisco, CA, died on January 25, 1999 with his loving family around him. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the love of his life, Patricia Hannett Hueter; their three devoted daughters, Ann B. Hueter, Laura Hueter Bass and Jane Hueter-Moody; and his son-in-law, Stephen D. Bass. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren, Meredith and Melissa Myers, Justine Bass, and Sarah and Andrew Moody; brothers, Ernest B. Hueter of Washington, DC and Robert C. Hueter of Napa Valley, CA; sisters-in-law, Mary Hannett Voller and Betty Hannett; nephews and nieces, and many dear friends, all of whom he loved. Jack graduated from New Mexico Military Institute and the University of New Mexico with a degree in Civil Engineering, and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was an adjunct professor at UNM in the College of Engineering and was a longtime employee of Sandia National Laboratories. He was also a dedicated community leader, having served as Chairman of the Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Board, President of the Goodwill Industries of New Mexico, President of the Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque and Lt. Governor of Southwest District of Kiwanis, Board member of the UNM Alumni Association, a member of Ballut Abyad Shrine, a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and an active volunteer for UNM, United Way, and the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. But more importantly, he was a profoundly beloved man because of the richness of his spirit, the tenderness of his heart, and the love he gave to so many. A Memorial service was held at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, on Saturday, January 30, 1999. The outpouring of love given to the family by so many dear friends is appreciated.
