Montes -- Clotilde (Tillie) Castillo Montes, age 104 and a life long resident of Bernalillo, passed away on February 1, 1999 at New Mexico Veterans Center in Truth or Consequences. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon R. Montes, her parents, Jose Felipe Castillo Sr., and Emerenciana Montoya Castillo; one brother, Jose Felipe Castillo Jr. and three sisters, Corina C de Baca, Candelaria Del Valle and Dolores Miera. Surviving Mrs. Montes is a sister, Mrs. Lucy C. Ortiz of Tesuque, NM and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Tillie, as she was better known, retired after serving 33 years as Postmaster in Bernalillo. She previously taught school in the communities of Cochiti, San Luis, Cabezon and Derry, NM. She also traveled extensively throughout her lifetime. Respecting the wishes of the deceased, private internment has taken place at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Bernalillo.
